The stories around Newcastle United of late have largely focused on potential exits.
With FFP restrictions reportedly frustrating those behind the scenes at Newcastle, the club have been unable to sign anyone thus far.
Instead, key players are being tipped for moves away.
Kieran Trippier is thought to have given the green light in regard to a potential move to Bayern Munich. Callum Wilson, meanwhile, is said to be interesting both AC Milan and Atletico Madrid.
Miguel Almiron could become the latest exit to Saudi Arabia, while Jamaal Lascelles has interest from Besiktas.
While that sounds like a lot of players who could leave, Mark Douglas of iNews has shared some more insight.
Newcastle transfer news: How many players are expected to leave in January window
Replying to a question on X (formerly Twitter), Douglas suggested he expected a “maximum” of one player to leave St James’ Park during what remains of this month’s window.
He also adds that he would only expect one player to join, too.
Douglas shares that the idea of replacing all of Trippier, Wilson and Almiron with such little time left in the window seems a little far-fetched.

Newcastle transfer news: Trippier, Almiron and Wilson latest
To absolutely write off a season which has brought supporters wins over Chelsea, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Manchester City feels a great shame.
However, being realistic about it, what left is there to play for? One more defeat in the FA Cup would leave Newcastle without any hopes of a trophy and the Champions League spots in the Premier League look a way off.
With that in mind, why not cash in on aging stars? That would surely help with FFP purposes for the long-term.
If Newcastle get big offers for the players listed above, selling them now might leave them in a difficult position, though only in the short term. Long term, it would make financial sense.
