Another Newcastle United player is being linked with a move away from St James’ Park, and this time it is claimed that a deal has actually been agreed.
Over the past few days we have had Joelinton potentially being sold in the summer, while Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson have been linked with exits during the January transfer window.
Now Miguel Almiron is the latest player who could be leaving the club, with a report from Ben Jacobs suggesting that a deal is already in place for him to be sold this month.
Newcastle agree to sell Miguel Almiron
According to journalist Ben Jacobs on X, Al-Shabab have provisionally agreed to buy Miguel Almiron from Newcastle United. He states that a deal is not done, although Almiron is keen on the move.
He wrote: “Al-Shabab and Newcastle have reached a provisional agreement over Miguel Almiron. It’s understood Almiron is open to the move, but the deal is not done yet.”
Almiron has been a massive player for Newcastle this season
Wow. That is a huge shock.
So many players have been linked with leaving Newcastle as of late. It is clear that the club are trying to sell to enable them to buy, and the latest report from Jacobs suggests that it will be Almiron who is allowed to go.
The 29-year-old has featured in every single game for Newcastle United this season, scoring five goals and providing two assists in 31 appearances.

The £21million winger’s contract on Tyneside runs until 2026, but it now looks like he could be signing a deal with a club in Saudi Arabia. Al-Shabab are not one of the teams that are owned by PIF, and a move there would see him play alongside Yannick Carrasco and Romain Saiss.
Selling Almiron would leave the Magpies incredibly light in attack, as he is one of only two wingers that are fit right now. However, Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes are due back from injury soon.
That could perhaps open the door for Almiron to leave, while him being sold will also give Newcastle the chance to actually invest some money and sign some players this month.
Interestingly, Jacobs believes that Almiron is open to the move, while seeing him leave would be much more palatable than someone like Kieran Trippier.
