Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is very active on social media, and his latest post on Twitter has left Toon fans confused.

With the Magpies not in action this weekend, we have not heard from Eddie Howe today. However, supporters have received a message from star player Bruno. However, it begs more questions than answers.

The 25-year-old tweeted out a message at 12.46pm, but it included just two emojis and no words.

Bruno posted the side eyes emoji and a very happy face alongside it, which appears to suggest that good news could be on the horizon.

However, it is unclear what that good news could be. The cryptic nature of the post has sent Toon fans wild, as they ponder what on earth Bruno could be alluding to.

One supporter suggested that the Brazilian had experienced his first ever Greggs, while another wondered if it meant a new signing was on the horizon. Anthony Gordon is the firm favourite to join Newcastle right now, while there is also a rumour involving Bruno’s fellow Brazilian Malcom.

But most fans believe Bruno’s post could mean just one thing – a new contract.

It was rumoured late last year that a new deal was set to be on the horizon for the Magpies’ number 39. That is despite the fact he only joined the club this time last year.

Bruno arrived from Lyon during the 2022 January transfer window for £35million, and signed a four-and-a-half year deal with the club.

But given how well he has done at St James’ Park, the club reportedly made plans to offer him an improved deal at the beginning of 2023.

Well, it is the beginning of 2023 now, and Bruno’s cryptic message suggests that something excellent has just happened. A new contract would surely fall into that category, especially given rumours that he could become Newcastle’s best paid player ever.

Of course, it is all speculation from supporters at the moment. Everyone is eager to know what Bruno was hinting at – hopefully it isn’t long before we find out.
