A new name has entered the transfer conversation at Newcastle United, with Zenit St Petersburg winger Malcom linked with a move to St James’ Park.
According to French website Foot Mercato, the Magpies have contacted Zenit about potentially signing the 25-year-old.
The Brazilian forward is also being linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, with Foot Mercato stating that Malcom has been offered to the Ligue 1 champions.
PSG are in the market for an attacker after letting Pablo Sarabia join Wolves. They need someone else to come in and provide cover for their famous front three alongside former Toon target Hugo Ekitike.
A move to Paris would surely appeal to Malcom, but perhaps a transfer to Tyneside could be of interest too.

Newcastle eye a new attacker for the second half of the season
The Magpies are having a sensational season so far. Eddie Howe’s side are third in the Premier League, and firmly in the race to qualify for the Champions League.
We also appear to be on the brink of a cup final. A draw with Southampton on Tuesday will be enough to book our place at Wembley for the 2023 League Cup final.
But reinforcements are needed. Howe’s squad needs an extra boost ahead of the second half of the season, especially after Chris Wood’s move to Nottingham Forest.
That is why Dan Ashworth is trying to sign Anthony Gordon from Everton. The 21-year-old is keen on a move to St James’ Park, and all that is left to do is agree a price with the Toffees.
However, Newcastle do have alternatives on their radar, such as Hakim Ziyech. And the Athletic state that an unnamed target from overseas is also being discussed.
Toon target Malcom is thriving this season
Whether or not that is Malcom remains to be seen, but he is enjoying a sensational season himself.
He has made 23 appearances for Zenit this season, and has a remarkable tally of 22 goal contributions. That includes 12 goals in the top flight of Russian football, which is more than any Toon player has managed this season – including Miguel Almiron.
The Paraguayan has nine goals so far, and is already experiencing his best ever campaign in a Toon shirt.
However, he would certainly have competition if Malcom arrived, as he also plays on the right wing. The Barcelona flop has re-established himself in Russia, and is currently enjoying his best ever season for Zenit.
Interestingly, Malcom has history with one member of Newcastle’s squad. He played alongside Bruno Guimaraes at the Olympic Games in Toyko back in 2021. They helped Brazil win the gold medal, with Malcom scoring the winning goal in the final against Spain.
Now there is speculation that the winning duo could be reunited at St James’ Park.
