Newcastle United are reportedly planning to offer Bruno Guimaraes a new contract very soon, and want his future sorted out before the World Cup.

That is according to Goal in Brazil, who state that the Toon midfielder has already held talks about extending his stay at St James’ Park.

Bruno has been a Newcastle player for less than a year, but what an impression he has made on Tyneside. He arrived in January for £35million from Lyon, and has quickly established himself as the best player at the club.

And now Newcastle plan to treat him as such with a bumper new deal. It will also serve to fend off interest from elsewhere.

There were rumours during the summer that Real Madrid wanted to sign the 24-year-old, but he will hopefully be staying in the North East for the foreseeable future.

Bruno could earn huge money at Newcastle with new contract

According to Goal, Newcastle have promised to make Bruno the highest paid player at the club if he signs a new deal.

That honour currently belongs to Kieran Trippier, who reportedly earns £100,000-a-week at St James’ Park. However, Bruno could soon earn double that amount.

Goal add that he is expected to earn around £200,000-a-week when he puts pen to paper on a new contract. That would make him the highest paid player in the club’s history.

And is there anyone more deserving than Bruno? He is simply irresistible in midfield for the Magpies, and already looks to be one of the top players in the entire Premier League. That is a real achievement given the amount of talent in this country.

Bruno is enjoying a rich vein of form. He recently scored twice in the 5-1 win over Brentford, and was called ‘outstanding‘ by manager Eddie Howe. Then he followed it up with an impressive outing at Old Trafford in the 0-0 draw with Manchester United.

When Bruno plays for Newcastle, he is more often than not the best player on the pitch. He is an exceptional talent, and a player we are lucky to have.

If the Toon owners are going to achieve their goals in the coming years, they need players like Bruno. He is at the forefront of the ambitious project at Newcastle, and it is an absolute dream to watch him play for our club.

A new contract is on the horizon, and he certainly deserves it. And with Newcastle wanting the deal signed before the World Cup next month, it hopefully isn’t too long before we receive official confirmation.
