Newcastle United have released a video from Tuesday morning’s training session, but Anthony Gordon and Fabian Schar are nowhere to be seen.
There is an appearance from Sven Botman, who appears to have recovered from his virus, while returning international Kieran Trippier is also involved.
However, it does not look like Gordon or Schar trained with the group on Tuesday morning. That is slightly concerning ahead of Sunday’s huge game against Manchester United.
Recent report claimed Anthony Gordon and Fabian Schar will be fit to face Man United
It has been reported by the Telegraph that both players are going to be fit for this weekend’s game at St James’ Park. Gordon has reportedly recovered from his ankle problem that ruled him out of the previous two games, while Schar should also be good to go against the Red Devils.
The report from the Telegraph was a huge boost – especially the news about Gordon, as it had been previously claimed that he could miss the next three games. However, the report claims that he will be fit to play some part versus Man United.

The 22-year-old is therefore conspicuous by his absence. Perhaps the club are trying to keep his recovery under wraps ahead of what is going to be a massive game.
As for Schar, there has been confusion surrounding his fitness in recent weeks. Ahead of the Nottingham Forest game, it was reported that he would not play for Switzerland during the international break due to injury.
The £3million man then proceeded to complete the full 90 minutes at the City Ground.
It is important that he is fit for Sunday, as he is a big part of the Premier League’s meanest defence. Howe’s back five will need to be at their best if they are to keep the in-form Marcus Rashford at bay, with the forward returning to training ahead of the game.
The fact that neither Gordon or Schar appear to have trained on Tuesday morning is a concern, but there is no need to panic. There is still a few more days to go before Premier League football returns, with Newcastle not in action until 4.30pm on Sunday.
