Newcastle United have had to deal with some of their most important assets being linked with a move away from the club of late.

In the early days of the PIF era, it wasn’t really something Newcastle had to consider given the upward trajectory upon which the club were embarking.

Recently, however, key individuals have been touted with moves away.

Luckily, Newcastle were able to keep their most prized players during the summer window despite so much noise.

Anthony Gordon, after all, was said to have been close to a move to Liverpool at one point before Newcastle managed to balance the books on the PSR front.

More recently, it’s been another key individual to have tipped to leave the club

Indeed, manager Eddie Howe is consistently being tipped for the England job.

Now, however, another new potential landing spot has emerged.

Amanda Staveley could reunite with Eddie Howe at Tottenham

Former director Amanda Staveley was a huge fan of Howe’s and her exit this summer was believed to have hit the Newcastle United manager hard.

Back in 2022, Staveley told The Athletic that Howe had “huge integrity” and explained how much she enjoyed working with him.

According to The Sun, Staveley could look to bring Howe to Tottenham should she buy into the London club as part of consortium.

Staveley and her backers are understood to be keen to buy a stake in Spurs, though the process is said to be some time off completion.

Eddie Howe already has an agreement with Amanda Staveley

Howe’s working relationship with Newcastle sporting director Paul Mitchell is said to be improving but there were reportedly teething problems between the two.

Earlier this summer, Howe hinted he had to be happy with working conditions, after all.

Interestingly, the Newcastle boss reportedly had an agreement with Staveley that he would make the final call on transfers, which may have changed now following Mitchell’s arrival.

That’s not to say it definitely has or that Howe has no input at all but a change in the hierarchy naturally brings an element of doubt.

Should Staveley take some control at Spurs, perhaps she could offer the same thing again…
