Newcastle United finished their Carabao Cup celebrations with a one-of-a-kind event on the Town Moor after an open-top bus tour through the city.
The event was the first that many fans had seen in their lifetime and one they wish to see again soon.
Newcastle’s city centre was packed out with fans who wanted to get a glimpse of the players they will now look at as heroes following the Carabao Cup win in March. The initial belief was that 250,000 Newcastle United fans were attending. However, that number is believed to have exceeded 300,000 in what has been considered as the city’s largest-ever gathering.
The Magpies are now focusing on their Premier League clash against Brentford at St James’ Park on Wednesday, with the hope that there is no hangover from the celebrations over the last two weeks.

Newcastle players partied in Dubai in the days following the win at Wembley before the likes of Joelinton celebrated in Brazil with family and friends.
Dan Burn was spotted watching darts with fellow Newcastle players after not being able to celebrate abroad due to his international commitments, but was able to soak up the atmosphere from the day in the city.
With the festivities living long in the memory, Gary Lineker has shared what a Newcastle fan told him after the dust had settled.

Gary Lineker shares brilliant conversation with Newcastle United fan
Alan Shearer was part of Newcastle’s celebrations on Saturday, taking centre stage on the Town Moor to speak in front of the hundreds of thousands of fans who made their way to the event.
The Newcastle legend could not hide his immense pride in the team and the city for the win, later admitting that he is unsure if anything would feel better than that, even if Newcastle won more trophies.
Shearer caught up with Lineker and Micah Richards on the Rest is Football podcast on Monday, where Newcastle’s leading goalscorer spilled the tea about what the event was like for him. The conversation reminded Lineker of something a Newcastle fan had said to him in public the day after the event.
Lineker said: “I was looking at barns this morning and there was a chap there in a black and white scarf.
“I went ‘are you still wearing it?’ and he said ‘I’ve not taken it off since!’.
The comment was greeted with laughter from both Shearer and Richards, with the former saying: “Yeah, it was amazing.”
Alan Shearer on Alexander Isak vs Erling Haaland
While the whole Newcastle squad will go down as heroes for winning the cup, Alexander Isak has been the Magpies’ standout player this season.
The Swede scored Newcastle’s second goal at Wembley with a fine finish to ensure Federico Chiesa’s late goal was a mere consolation. His form this season has sparked debate over who is better between the Newcastle man and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

Discussion around the pair took place on the same episode of the Rest is Football, where Shearer had a lot to say about Newcastle’s star striker.
“I think Isak is technically better than Haaland,”
“In terms of goals, Haaland scored more – he’s the better goalscorer. But they’re very different, I’m not going to pick, I couldn’t pick one.
“Isak without doubt is technically better than Haaland.”
