Newcastle United unveiled their third kit for the 2025/26 season in style, with local musician Sam Fender joining fellow club legends in their announcement video.
After the home kit was unveiled and used for the final day of the Premier League season, it was is time for the third kit to get its moment to shine.
Newcastle United will be playing in the Champions League for the second time in three seasons, so these kits had to hit the spot. Thankfully, Adidas have played a blinder with the two kits that have been released so far.
Initially, Newcastle supporters did not like the third kit, but many have changed their mind upon seeing the announcement video. Sam Fender has just finished three nights at St James’ Park, but the North Shields-born singer has returned to the shadow of the ground to play a tune in the Tyneside Irish Club alongside club legends like Tino Asprilla and Jonas Gutierrez.
The kit was officially released to the public on Tuesday, and judging by the reaction of the fans on social media, they will sell like hot cakes.

The inspiration behind Newcastle United’s 2025/26 third kit
Newcastle’s third kit presents a design that was inspired by previous work done by Adidas in the 1990s, with a modern twist. The kit suppliers have gone rogue, while keeping the Magpies’ classic roots prevalent in the new kit, with the iconic club crest being placed on a shield.
What others may notice about it is that it is not the usual Adidas logo. Instead, the third kit has the retro Adidas Originals logo stitched into it, a fitting move based on the kit’s origin.
However, there are some differences that make the new kit unique in its own right. Instead of the classic circular collar, Adidas have opted for a V-neck, which has become more common at the club in recent years.
Of course, the iconic Champions League patches have a home on this kit, and it does not look out of place amongst the orange stripes on the sleeves.
Newcastle United fans are blown away with the new third shirt
It is clear that Newcastle and Adidas have put a lot of thought into designing the third shirt, taking note of their successes in the past.
Reacting to the release on X, fans seemed completely stunned, with one writing: “Absolutely love this.”
“This is exactly why other fans dislike us: Identity and loyalty. No one comes close to it. They envy what we have,” someone else commented, while a third fan replied: “I love it now announce new signings in it please!!”
“The video. The shirt. The memories. The end scene. Incredible,” another said. Meanwhile, one fan added: “This is utterly phenomenal. Everything about it is just perfect, so many nice touches and references.”
Newcastle’s third kit was released on July 1, and is available in stores and online.
