Newcastle United fans believe there is a major problem with the rumoured Adidas third kit for the 2025/26 season.
So far, only the Newcastle United home kit has been released for the 2025/26 season. That is available to buy now, with Newcastle fans loving Adidas’ work. That kit has even had its first run out, with Newcastle United wearing it on the last day of the Premier League season when they lost 1-0 to Everton.
The away and third kits are yet to be released, but leaks are emerging online. Newcastle fans are not impressed with the rumoured away shirt, which is set to be green.
Now a potential third kit is circulating online too, with one feature irking the Toon Army.

Newcastle United fans unhappy with rumoured Adidas third kit
Newcastle United’s third kit for the 2025/26 season is expected to be based on the away jersey from the 1997/98 season.
A leaked image online shows that it is royal blue, with orange stripes on the sleeve, an orange Adidas logo and orange Sela sponsor. There are also two lines of orange trim around the V-neck collar.
That is not where the problem lies for Newcastle United fans. They are concerned about the badge, which is surrounded by a black shield, just like it was in the late 90s.
The shield has not gone down well with Toon supporters, who have voiced their displeasure on X (formerly known as Twitter).
“That shield around the badge is hideous,” wrote one fan.
A second Newcastle fan added: “I like it, but the only bad point on it for me is the shield that the badge is in. If the badge was on its own, then that would be infinitely better.”
Another Toon supporter wrote: “If they’re gonna go with the trefoil logo then give it the full beans and use the old NUFC badge as well (or just bin off the shield).”
“Apart from the badge in pocket thing, I like it,” commented this member of the Toon Army.
“Stunning bar the black crest,” wrote a fifth Newcastle United fan.
Finally, this Newcastle supporter wrote: “Hate the black part of the badge, like the rest.”
Why Newcastle United’s third kit will have a different Adidas logo
This will be Newcastle United’s second season back with Adidas, and there is already a change to the agreement between the club and the German brand.
The Magpies are going to become one of Adidas’ ‘elite’ teams, which means their third kit will be slightly different to the one they used during the 2024/25 season.
It will use the Adidas trefoil logo, as seen in the leaked kit that is doing the rounds.
Adidas’ other ‘elite’ clubs include Real Madrid, Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester United.
