One Newcastle United player could make his senior international debut this week after receiving a late call-up.
Newcastle United sit seventh in the Premier League table as they head into the October international break, with Eddie Howe‘s side picking up a point in their latest draw with Everton.
The squad’s biggest stars will now jet out to join up with their national teams. There have been 12 Newcastle players called up for international duty.
Among those 12 is young defender Tino Livramento, who got a call-up to Ben Futcher’s England Under-21s squad.
Livramento has impressed this season after laying claim to a starting spot at right-back. His strong form was rewarded with a senior call-up to Lee Carsley’s England team in the last international break.
Livramento missed out on a senior call-up initially, but after injury withdrawals, he is now set for a return.

Tino Livramento gets senior England call-up
Livramento got his first senior call-up to the England squad under Carsley last month, but he is still yet to make his senior Three Lions debut.
He looked set to miss out on the senior squad for October’s fixtures, but after the trio of Kobbie Mainoo, Morgan Gibbs-White and Ezri Konsa pulled out through injury, Livramento has been called up.
England announced on Wednesday that both Livramento and Liverpool’s Curtis Jones have been called up.
Carsley’s side are set to face Greece and Finland in the Nations League this week, with the Greece game kicking off on Thursday evening at Wembley Stadium.
England are currently second in their Nations League group despite winning both of their games so far. Greece sit top with a superior goal difference.
Tino Livramento deserves England call-up after Newcastle form
England have superb depth and quality at right-back, so for Livramento to be called up to successive senior squads reflects just how impressive he has been for Newcastle this season.
The 21-year-old, who was signed for £32m, has featured in all seven Premier League games so far this season and is showing that he is ready and capable to replace Kieran Trippier in the long term.
Trippier came close to leaving Newcastle this summer after requesting a move away, and it is likely that he will be moved on either in January or next summer.
But Livramento’s form this season has calmed any concerns around the 34-year-old leaving.
In Livramento and fellow England youngster Lewis Hall, Newcastle have found themselves two quality full-backs that can continue to grow and develop under Eddie Howe.
