A decision has now been made about Kieran Trippier’s Newcastle United future.

Despite the Premier League’s transfer window closing, there has still been speculation that Kieran Trippier could leave Newcastle United.

The transfer window in Turkey is still open, while Trippier reiterated to Newcastle that he would like to leave the club.

Despite interest from clubs in Turkey, Newcastle have always wanted to keep Trippier. Eddie Howe does not want his squad to get any weaker, at a time when he is unable to bring in a replacement.

While that might disappoint Trippier, the club must come first.

And even if Trippier still wants to leave, the Turkish clubs that are targeting him have now distanced themselves from a deal.

That is according to Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett, who has taken to X to provide an update on Kieran Trippier’s Newcastle United future.

He wrote on X: “Kieran Trippier staying at #nufc. The four Turkish clubs who wanted to take him on loan before their window closes in three days have given up. Newcastle don’t want to let him go.”

Trippier will continue to be professional for Newcastle heading towards January

With the Turkish interest in Trippier disappearing, it looks like the 33-year-old is going to have to stay at St James’ Park.

That will likely disappoint Trippier, but it will delight Eddie Howe. It means that the Newcastle United manager has competition at right-back, with Trippier and Tino Livramento vying for a place in the starting XI.

Even though Trippier has only started once this season, he will get the chance to play. It has even been reported that Trippier could start against Wolves on Sunday.

The £12million signing is still an extremely important player on Tyneside, and his professionalism has not wavered during this period of speculation over his future.

When the Magpies beat Spurs, Trippier was barking orders from the touchline, despite only being a substitute. That showed how committed he still is, even if he is eager for a fresh challenge elsewhere.

Between now and January, Trippier will continue being a Newcastle United player. Once the transfer window re-opens, a fresh decision over his future can be made.

But with Newcastle knowing where Trippier stands, at least they now have time to find a replacement that they can target in January – if the former England international is still adamant about leaving.

Until then, Trippier will continue to give his all in a black and white shirt.
