21-year-old spotted in Newcastle training after Eddie Howe decision, but he can’t play on Saturday

Newcastle United have been back in training this week ahead of their FA Cup tie with Fulham, and there has been a fresh face involved as Eddie Howe’s side prepare to head to the capital.

Eddie Howe would have hoped to have had a new signing now, with the likes of Kalvin Phillips heavily linked with moving to the North East. However, he is taking his talents to West Ham.

But at least Howe’s squad is not any weaker. Talk of Kieran Trippier being sold has now ended, while it also looks like Miguel Almiron will be staying put.

Both players have been involved in training ahead of the FA Cup fourth round clash with Fulham, and so has a player who has never actually made a competitive appearance for the Magpies.

Joe White training with Newcastle first-team after loan spell

The club have uploaded 25 pictures to their official website from one of this week’s training sessions. The likes of Sven Botman, Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak can all be seen taking part.

And there is also a role for Joe White, who is back on Tyneside after his loan spell at Crewe Alexandra came to an end.

He can be seen on picture number six on the club’s official website, working alongside Anthony Gordon and Matt Ritchie. The midfielder can also be seen much clearer on Paul Dummett’s Instagram, with the defender posting some additional photos to social media.

The 21-year-old is yet to go back out on loan after returning from Crewe, and is going to get a chance to impress Eddie Howe given all of Newcastle’s injury issues. If White is ready to make the step up then it would be a real bonus.

However, we will not get to see that this weekend. That is because White is cup-tied against Fulham, having featured for Crewe earlier in the competition. Instead, he will have to wait until the Premier League game against Aston Villa a few days later to receive an opportunity.

While White is involved in first-team training right now, there is still no sight of any of our injured players that are nearing a return. The likes of Jacob Murphy, Callum Wilson, Harvey Barnes and Joe Willock are not seen in any of the club’s official photos.
