‘Word has spread’ about PIF’s project at Newcastle United, it explains everything

Newcastle United are enduring perhaps the most miserable summer transfer window imaginable and PIF may not be able to blame bad luck.

Indeed, Newcastle have failed to sign several transfer targets this summer and that could be set to continue.

Geordie Boot Boys understands that there is now a feeling behind the scenes that Newcastle transfer target Benjamin Sesko could join Manchester United instead.

While Newcastle have signed Anthony Elanga, they have been unable to attract any other senior players to the club this summer.

Part of that is no doubt down to the wages on offer elsewhere but PIF may not be able to blame that entirely.

In fact, a recent update does not make good reading for the Newcastle United owners

Players have been put off signing for Newcastle United

According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle may no longer be seen as quite as attractive as they once were.

Despite the fact that they lifted the Carabao Cup and have qualified for the Champions League, “word has spread” amongst players in the game.

It’s said that the Newcastle project isn’t quite what the initial clutch of additions signed up to in the first place.

That would explain a lot. Newcastle remain a brilliant club to play for, but there must be a reason why they keep missing out.

Alexander Isak not alone in doubting Newcastle United’s project

Alexander Isak is frustrated at Newcastle and he’s not alone in that.

Several other Newcastle players doubt PIF’s ability to deliver the project they promised, which is a major cause for concern.

Sadly, there are reasons to doubt Newcastle’s level of ambition right now. Isak may be going about it in completely the wrong fashion, but he’s within his rights to want to move on.

Progress off the pitch has been profoundly lacking of late. Newcastle still don’t have a sporting director or CEO. Supporters still haven’t seen any updates on moves to a new stadium or a new training ground.

PIF’s takeover was transformative for Newcastle. It’s all starting to feel as if it has now peaked, however.
