Newcastle United fans will be hoping for a busy transfer deadline day, as Eddie Howe’s side look to secure some last-minute deals.

Newcastle United have had a very eventful summer, to say the least.

PSR restrictions, England manager links, and a new sporting director – Toon fans will be glad to see the end of the transfer window today.

However, it has not all been doom and gloom for the Magpies, bringing in the likes of Lloyd Kelly and William Osula to bolster the Newcastle first-team squad.

Eddie Howe’s side may not be done there though, with Newcastle needing to secure a number of late deals before the window slams shut. Newcastle will be open for business on deadline day, although they certainly will not panic buy.

So with that being said, here are three potential transfers the Magpies could get over the line today.

Newcastle United have signed two goalkeepers this summer, but a third could arrive on transfer deadline day.

The Magpies were close to signing James Trafford from Burnley earlier in the window, but a deal stalled once Odysseas Vlachodimos arrived from Nottingham Forest.

But Newcastle have been back in talks with Trafford over a late deal, and the £19million man feels like the most probable player to join the Magpies on transfer deadline day.

Speaking of Odysseas Vlachodimos, he could potentially be on his way out of St James’ Park, despite only signing for Newcastle United this summer.

An incoming deal for Trafford could hinge on a goalkeeper departing, and the Greece international is the most likely to leave.

Newcastle could loan Vlachodimos out, which would make an even bigger mockery of his move from Nottingham Forest. Having cost the Magpies £20million, the 30-year-old has not been involved in any of Newcastle’s three games so far this season.

One potential Toon sale we could see on deadline day is Miguel Almiron.

Rumours surrounding Alimron’s potential Newcastle exit have been circling in the press all summer, with the Paraguayan being linked with a return to the MLS as well as a move to Saudi Arabia.

Newcastle have been reluctant to sell the 30-year-old up until now but if the Magpies were able to secure a new right-wing replacement, they could be tempted into a last-minute sale.

Almiron has been linked with Fulham, and is valued at around £15million.
