Newcastle United have been casting their eye over one of European football’s brightest talents, and it appears they are not the only Premier League club who are keen.

Roony Bardghji put everyone on notice in November when he scored the winner for Copenhagen against Manchester United in the Champions League.

Suddenly everyone was talking about the Swedish teenager, while it was reported that Newcastle United had sent scouts to watch the forward.

Bardghji has been a consistent source of goals in Denmark this season, finding the net on 10 occasions at the age of 18. He is a player with a huge amount of potential, which is why some of the biggest clubs around are keen to secure his signature.

Hopefully Newcastle are still keeping an eye on the winger, and a fresh update from Sky Sports has provided details on how much he could cost – as well as interest from England.

Premier League clubs enquire about Roony Bardghji

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, three Premier League clubs have enquired about signing Bardghji from Copenhagen during the January transfer window. He adds that La Liga giants Barcelona are also interested in the wonderkid.

Sheth also states that Bardghji is valued at £21.5million, and that he has no plans to extend his contract with Copenhagen. His current deal expires at the end of 2025.

Sheth believes that three top flight clubs in England have asked Copenhagen about signing Bardghji this month. However, he has not stated who they are.

Their identities are a mystery, so it could mean that three more Premier League clubs are interested in the attacker as well as Newcastle, or that Toon officials have made their first move for Bardghji alongside two other sides.

Bardghji would be a welcome addition to this Newcastle squad

He would be a welcome addition at St James’ Park, as right wing is a position that we really need to improve in right now. Miguel Almiron is struggling, and the club really need to press ahead with finding a replacement if they want to push on to the next level.

But getting a player of that calibre right now might be difficult. That is why signing a young talent like Bardghji could be wise. He has already made an impression in the Champions League, but his biggest selling point is his potential.

While financial fair play is making the January transfer window extremely difficult for Newcastle, it would be great if the club could pull off a deal for Bardghji.

Whether they are actually trying to remains to be seen, but Sky Sports believe that three Premier League clubs have registered their interest. Let’s hope that we are one of them.
