Newcastle United have sent scouts over to watch FC Copenhagen’s 17-year-old future star Roony Bardghji.
Jeunes Footeux are now reporting that Newcastle, along with a handful of other European sides, have sent recruits over to watch the attacker play against Manchester United.
The young man has recently emerged as one of the top prospects to watch in Europe and interest in him is clearly on the rise.
Bardghji steals the show in front of Newcastle scout
Newcastle scouts were treated to a great show as they watched over Bardghji on Wednesday evening. Copenhagen won a crucial and historic Champions League match 4-3 against Manchester United after some controversial VAR decisions.
Bardghji started the game on the bench but was brought on around the hour mark and would go on to score the winning goal in the final few minutes. The young attacker’s name will now be etched into the history of the Danish club forever.
Born in Kuwait in 2005, the teenager moved to Sweden seven years later and has represented the Scandinavian country at youth level in the last few years.
The report has likened the Swede to Eden Hazard and Lionel Messi with his quick feet and footballing intelligence and is predicted to be one of the most exciting talents in Europe.

Newcastle will have to battle top teams for Swedish wonderkid
Newcastle are certainly not alone in their interest of the 17-year-old. Jeunes Footeux also claimed scouts from Brighton, Chelsea, Ajax, Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig were all in attendance for Wednesday’s Champions League clash.
Bardghji’s winning effort against the Red Devils took his tally up to 11 for the season and interest from other clubs is only going to grow from this point on.
The Magpies would likely have to offer a very lucrative and attractive deal to both the club and player who will soon have his pick of the bunch if the Superliga champions look to cash in this summer.
Bardghji’s current contract runs until December 2025 which all interested parties will already be aware of, so Copenhagen must come to a decision soon if they are unable to renew with their young star.
