Newcastle United are not scared of dipping into the market for young players these days.
Though the money spent and the media attention garnered during the PIF era demands instant success, Newcastle are not all about the present.
Indeed, the club have been scouring the market for developing talent in an effort to strengthen in the long-term.
Bruno Guimaraes, Sven Botman, Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon were all in their early to mid-twenties when they signed, while Newcastle also brought in promising youngsters Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall this summer.
While neither of Garang Kuol or Yankuba Minteh are quite first-team ready yet, signing burgeoning talents has been a key policy since the takeover.
Which makes links with a move for FC Copenhagen’s Roony Bardghji interesting.
Roony Bardghji: Newcastle transfer latest
The 18-year-old hit headlines recently by scoring the winner against Manchester United in the Champions League earlier this month.
A right-winger hailed as the “Swedish Messi”, Newcastle are said to be interested.
Now, his agent has shared the latest on his future.
“He’s one of the most exciting talents in the world and also the future of Swedish football since Zlatan, it’s natural that he is being monitored by major clubs,” he said (via Fabrizio Romano).
“It’s too early to say now… but one thing is for sure — you’ll get used to seeing Roony perform on the biggest stage”.

Newcastle transfer news: What scouts have said about January plans
Despite needing to strengthen for Premier League and Champions League commitments, Newcastle do not appear to be changing their plans to strengthen for the future.
Marcel Bout, who has recently been appointed as Chief of Global Scouting, confirmed he was on the lookout for the next breakout star in world football when speaking to the Daily Mirror earlier this week.
“I am looking for the new Haaland, Bellingham and [Jamal] Musiala,” he said.
“I am focusing on young talent up to 23-years-old who have the potential to get into Newcastle’s first team.”
