A lot of Crystal Palace players are attracting interest from elsewhere right now, with Newcastle United trying to sign Marc Guehi.

The Magpies are chasing a deal for the 24-year-old, but have so far been unable to agree a fee with Crystal Palace. Newcastle made a third offer for Marc Guehi over the weekend, but it has been rejected.

Steve Parish has told Newcastle what it will take to sign Guehi, as he aims to receive ‘superstar money’ for a player who excelled for England at Euro 2024.

Crystal Palace are in a strong position when it comes to Marc Guehi, but they are also receiving interest in some of their other players.

Marc Guehi’s centre-back partner also linked with leaving Crystal Palace

The one that should concern Newcastle United fans is Joachim Andersen – Guehi’s defensive partner at Selhurst Park.

Fulham are trying to sign Andersen, and their approach could scupper Newcastle’s plans to land Guehi.

There is no way that Crystal Palace are going to sell both centre-backs, and Parish has now confirmed this in an interview.

What Steve Parish has said about Andersen and Guehi

Parish has spoke to BBC Sport about Guehi and Andersen being linked with moves away, and he is hoping that they both stay at Crystal Palace.

“I can’t imagine a situation where we lose both of our centre-halves,” he said.

“Joachim is a special lad and very much at the heart of what we do. He’s like our quarterback in that back three. A sensational footballer.”

Parish added: “We’ve got to sit and think about what is the right thing to do, what the players want to do. If both of them are still here by the end of the window I would not be surprised.”

Fulham make fresh bid for Joachim Andersen as Newcastle plot their next move

While Newcastle plot their next move regarding their pursuit of Guehi, Fulham have stepped up their interest in Andersen.

According to the Athletic, Fulham have now submitted an offer worth £30million for Andersen. The bid is an initial £25million, with £5million in add-ons.

That is £10million shy of Crystal Palace’s £40million valuation of the 28-year-old.

Marco Silva’s side are continuing to pursue Andersen, and their approach for the Denmark international could sabotage Newcastle’s quest to sign Guehi.

The fear was that Palace would only sell one of them, and now Parish has made that crystal clear. He has also put the pressure on Newcastle to increase their offer for Guehi, as the Eagles aim to stand firm and retain the services of an incredibly talented centre-back.

The clock is ticking for Newcastle. They either need to go all in or move on to other targets.
