Sandro Tonali’s transfer to Newcastle United continues to make headlines.
Despite no official announcement at the time of writing, Newcastle are soon expected to seal a deal to bring Tonali to St James’ Park to kick off their summer transfer window.
Journalists based in Milan have spoken about how much of a loss the midfielder will be, while Italy manager Roberto Mancini admitted the prospect of losing such a talent was bad for Serie A.

Clearly, Newcastle are set to sign a big name in Italian football.
Life, however, goes on for AC Milan and they are thought to be closing in on a replacement.
Rafael Leao responds as AC Milan get set to replace Sandro Tonali
Indeed, they are reportedly set to bring Ruben Loftus-Cheek to the San Siro this summer.
The Chelsea and England midfielder has previously been linked with Newcastle but now appears to be set to move to Serie A.
In fact, the switch has been so widely reported that noted transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has posted an image of Loftus-Cheek donning the famous Milan kit.
In response, Milan and Portugal star Rafael Leao gave his seal of approval, writing on Instagram: “Cmonnnnn.”

Newcastle should soon announce Tonali
For many supporters, the fact Newcastle haven’t officially announced Tonali yet will be a worry.
After all, how many times have fans all around the world been burned when a deal collapses at the final hurdle?
Still, that does not appear to be the case here.
Romano has himself claimed the move is all-but done and journalist Ben Jacobs hinted the main reason for the delay was because Newcastle do not wish to distract Tonali while he is away playing for Italy at the U21 European Championships.
All the noises would suggest there is little to worry about and Tonali will soon be a Newcastle player.
