Newcastle United’s plans to sign players during this summer’s transfer window have accelerated in recent days.
Indeed, on Thursday, it was claimed that Newcastle have made a triple bid for Joao Pedro, Anthony Elanga and James Trafford.
It has been a slow start to the transfer window for Newcastle fans, but things look to be picking up at long last.
Such is their desire to strengthen, the club are also said to be scouring the European market for potential additions.
As such, Newcastle have been linked with Johan Bakayoko, and a fresh update has emerged on both him and Pedro.

Marseille interested in Johan Bakayoko
According to La Provence, French giants Marseille are also keen on a move for the PSV winger.
They sold Luis Henrique to Inter Milan and could reportedly move for the Belgian winger as his potential replacement.
Bakayoko’s price tag could be just £17million this summer, making him a potential bargain for any club looking to buy him.
It remains to be seen if Newcastle do act on their reported interest in Bakayoko.
The 22-year-old has long been linked with a move to the club, but Eddie Howe may have other options up front at this point.
Joao Pedro open to Newcastle United
The aforementioned report on the bid from The Daily Telegraph claims Pedro would be open to joining Newcastle this summer.
They also suggest that Pedro’s wage demands are not likely to be much of an issue at St James’ Park.
That is a huge boost for Newcastle, albeit they still need to agree a fee with Brighton.

The Seagulls have proven themselves able to drive a hard bargain, so that will not be easy.
Pedro was also linked with a move to Newcastle back in 2022 while still a Watford player and Howe is thought to be a big fan of his.
The Brazilian can operate in a number of different attacking positions, which makes him an attractive target.
Newcastle United “expected” to sign James Trafford
Trafford is another Newcastle target this summer, with the goalkeeper having come close to a move to the club last season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, there’s now an “expectation” that the England hopeful will arrive this summer.
Trafford has already agreed personal terms, and there is a hope Newcastle can soon agree a fee with Burnley.
The Trafford saga has been a long one for Toon fans. Nick Pope wants to stay at Newcastle but having the two compete for a starting berth is a mouth-watering prospect ahead of a busier campaign next time out.
