Newcastle United keen on signing Malick Fofana
A right-winger is on the shopping list, but Eddie Howe has a left-sided attacker in his sights.
According to reports, Newcastle are interested in signing Lyon’s Malick Fofana, but face competition from the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur for his signature.
The 20-year-old is coming off a promising season with Lyon, registering nine goal involvements in 29 Ligue 1 appearances. However, Fofana is keen on staying at Lyon for another season and playing as a right-footed left-winger.
Lyon may be forced to sell Fofana due to their poor finances, with the reports stating that he will cost the Magpies between £40m-£45m this summer.
