Liverpool fans are dreaming of signing Alexander Isak, while Newcastle United supporters are praying he remains on Tyneside.
The 25-year-old’s Newcastle United future has emerged as a hot topic over the past 48 hours, with Liverpool’s interest in Isak resurfacing.
It has been claimed that they could pay a British record fee to sign the striker. However, Newcastle remain adamant Isak is not leaving.
Their stance is firm, with Eddie Howe boasting no desire to sell any of his star attractions. But while Newcastle’s position is clear, they cannot stop Liverpool being interested in Isak.

Have Liverpool contacted Newcastle United about signing Alexander Isak?
Despite their interest and the increased speculation over the Sweden international’s future, he is currently going nowhere.
According to the Telegraph, Newcastle United have had no contact with Liverpool regarding Isak, be it formal or informal.
The report adds that Newcastle’s stance over Isak remains the same, with Toon officials valuing the centre-forward in excess of £150million.
How Newcastle United can silence the Alexander Isak noise
Isak to Liverpool is exactly that – noise.
It is infuriating for Newcastle United fans, who are constantly hearing about their star players leaving St James’ Park. If it is not Isak, it is Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali or Bruno Guimaraes.
The story is the same with all of those players. Newcastle are in the position of power, not needing to sell for PSR reasons.
That puts Newcastle in a commanding position with regards to Isak. However, their position will only become even more commanding if he puts pen to paper over a new contract.
Newcastle want Isak to sign a new contract, with talks due to take place this summer. Tying him down to a new deal will end all of the chatter about a move away from St James’ Park, with Newcastle keen to make Isak their highest-paid player.
Toon fans will hope that deal gets done sooner rather than later. Regardless, Isak is set to be a Newcastle United player next season whether he signs a new contract or not.
