Anthony Elanga is sure to have made Newcastle United fans go wild after a recent social media post. Anthony Gordon and Sven Botman had to respond.
After missing out on him on deadline day in summer 2024, Newcastle United are back in for the 23-year-old after another brilliant season with Nottingham Forest.
The Magpies are in desperate need of a new right winger this summer after selling Yankuba Minteh and Miguel Almiron to help their PSR position over the last 12 months. Newcastle are in a much better financial position now and are ready to sign a number of players to help their Champions League campaign.
Anthony Elanga is high on Newcastle’s list, with Eddie Howe valuing the player at around £35m, though he may have to pay around £55m to bring him to Tyneside.
A boost is that Forest need to sell one big name, with Elanga to Newcastle mentioned in those reports. Elanga regularly interacts with William Osula on social media, but Anthony Gordon and Sven Botman have now sent messages to the winger after a social media post which Newcastle fans will love.

Anthony Elanga shares Newcastle United shirt in latest social media post
Alexander Isak tried to tempt Elanga into joining Newcastle in 2024, but the winger pledged his allegiance to Forest. Despite that, it could be a completely different story this summer if the price is right.
Not only would Elanga help Newcastle in attack, he would form a brilliant partnership with Isak, which has already been tested on international duty.
The 23-year-old is currently enjoying his post-season and has shared a series of photos to his personal Instagram page. Most images would make very few bat an eyelid, but it is not until his final picture that Newcastle fans would be sent into a frenzy. The picture shows Elanga wearing a Bournemouth shirt, and the person he is with wearing a Newcastle shirt.
In the comments section, Anthony Gordon commented: “Yallaaa.” while Botman said: “Mykooo.”
Additionally, Osula commented: “Henjoyment my boy.”
Newcastle United must do whatever it takes to sign Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest
After the season he had, there is no doubt that Elanga would fit in well at Newcastle. His contributions put Forest within touching distance of the Champions League and helped them into Europe for the first time in over two decades.
Chris Wood is a huge fan of Elanga, and Howe should listen to the former Newcastle man’s comments on him as they would surely make his decision much easier.

Newcastle have a healthy transfer budget to spend this summer; they would not need to use the majority of it to sign Elanga, so a deal seems like it makes a lot of sense.
There is no word on whether Elanga is open to the move, but posts like that suggest he could be.
