According to journalist Joel Bland on social media platform X, Newcastle United are likely to sanction player exits towards the later stages of the window.
He suggests that Longstaff is amongst the potential departures, amid links with Leeds United and Everton.
However, Bland adds that there isn’t a huge amount of advanced interest at this stage.
Who is Newcastle United transfer target Ousmane Diomande?
Diomande is an Ivorian central defender who joined Sporting CP from Danish side FC Midtjylland in 2023.
He won two league titles under current Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim in Lisbon and has been linked with a host of other Premier League clubs.
In 2023, Amorim said of the defender: “Diomande plays with both feet, and is very physically strong.
He is a very talented player and most people don’t know how many clubs were after him…Diomande is fast and I wanted a strong player for duels and with the ability to have the ball…”
Joao Pedro could become one of Newcastle United’s most expensive players
Paying Joao Pedro’s reported price tag of £60million would make the Brazilian one of Newcastle United’s most expensive ever players.
In fact, at that price, the only player more expensive in the history of Newcastle United Football Club would be Alexander Isak.
The striker joined for £63million in 2022, but no other player has ever topped the £60million mark at St James’ Park.
