Newcastle United are set to miss out on signing Bryan Mbeumo.
The Brentford winger has been Newcastle United’s top winger target, but he will not be on his way to St James’ Park.
Bryan Mbeumo wants to join Manchester United instead, with the Red Devils aiming to beat the Magpies to another Premier League star after striking a deal for Matheus Cunha.
Cunha is joining Man United for £62.5million, and that is the kind of fee it will take to get Mbeumo out of Brentford.
Newcastle United priced out of Bryan Mbeumo transfer
As well as Mbeumo’s incredible wage demands, his sizeable asking price has also been enough to put Newcastle United officials off.

That is according to TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, who has spoken to Geordie Boot Boys about the Mbeumo situation.
“I had been told for a few weeks that Newcastle were balking at the price for Mbeumo,” he said.
“That is how it has played out. Having seen what Manchester United have paid for Matheus Cunha, Brentford think that Mbeumo is a better player so are not going to accept less than what he cost. That sets the market.
“Newcastle are not willing to pay that, from what I am hearing. I am not even sure if they were willing to go to £55million, which is surprising.
“Do Newcastle come back in and offer over £60million for him? Never say never, but right now he is firmly heading towards Manchester United. Newcastle are not willing to pay his asking price, and it is as simple as that.”
Bryan Mbeumo alternatives that Newcastle United could consider
With Mbeumo’s asking price deemed too high, Newcastle United are looking for alternatives.
They have to bring someone in, as Jacob Murphy is currently the Magpies’ only out-and-out right winger. He needs more competition, while Newcastle United need more depth ahead of their return to the Champions League.

It remains to be seen who Newcastle will prioritise next, with Bailey suggesting two other Premier League wingers that Howe’s side could pursue.
“There are other options out there, the likes of Noni Madueke at Chelsea,” he said.
“However, I personally do not think Madueke is an Eddie Howe player. The manager is going to have a lot more say in the transfers this summer, so we need to take that on board.
“Could Newcastle come into the Mohammed Kudus situation? Possibly.
“He would be a little bit cheaper than Mbeumo, but not massively. West Ham need to sell him to enable them to do other things. He will be going for less than his £85million release clause. He does not want to go to Saudi Arabia, so he will likely be moving within England.”
The former is available, with Chelsea willing to listen to offers for Noni Madueke. He is a player who the Magpies tried to sign last summer, but a deal could not be agreed with Chelsea.
As for Kudus, he is someone who West Ham are looking to sell to solve their PSR problem.
