There is going to be more outgoing business at Newcastle United following Alexander Isak’s move to Liverpool.
There was one incoming and two outgoings at Newcastle United on transfer deadline day, with Yoane Wissa joining from Brentford for £55million.
His arrival coincides with Alexander Isak signing for Liverpool. His British record transfer went through, with the Magpies receiving £125million for the 25-year-old.
As well as Isak, Newcastle loaned out Trevan Sanusi. He has joined Lorient on loan, and will hopefully gain valuable first-team experience at the age of 18.
By the time the English transfer window closed at 7pm, they were the only departures from St James’ Park. However, another is on the horizon.

Travis Hernes to leave Newcastle United on loan
While Newcastle cannot sign players again until January, other transfer windows are still open. For example, Dutch clubs can do business until 11:59pm on 2nd September.
That is good news for Newcastle United midfielder Travis Hernes, who is set to take his talents to the Eredivisie.
According to the Shields Gazette, Groningen are going to sign Hernes on a season-long loan deal.
The 19-year-old is going to spend the 2025/26 campaign in the Eredivisie, in what will be his second loan spell away from Tyneside. He made 12 appearances for Danish side Aalborg BK last season, having arrived on loan in January.
Hernes is yet to make his competitive debut for the Magpies, and there is a chance that may never happen.
That is because, according to the Shields Gazette, Groningen will have the option to make the teenager’s deal permanent next summer.
How Eddie Howe felt about Travis Hernes during Newcastle United’s pre-season
Hernes gets set to head out on loan on the back of spending all of pre-season with the Newcastle United first-team squad.
The midfielder was consistently involved alongside the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali, as Eddie Howe prepared his players for the 2025/26 season.
That was a testament to Hernes’ ability, with the likes of Leo Shahar and the aforementioned Sanusi not part of the group that travelled to Asia during the summer.
Howe was impressed with Hernes, with the Newcastle United manager praising the youngster during that pre-season tour of Asia.
“Of course, and every player that steps on to the pitch has that opportunity [to impress],” he said.
“Travis Hernes is another who came on against Spurs – and I was really pleased with him.
“You are looking for somebody to grab their opportunity and force their way into the squad.”
Sadly for Hernes, he is not forcing his way into Newcastle’s Premier League squad. He is going out on loan, and could even become a permanent Groningen player in 2026.
