Newcastle United are looking to sign a new striker this summer following the departure of Callum Wilson.
Wilson left Newcastle earlier this month after his contract expired, despite talks over an incentivised new deal.
Now, Newcastle are hunting for a new forward. They are set to sign Anthony Elanga but will look to replace Wilson too.
Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Newcastle have held talks with Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Furthermore, Hugo Ekitike has also been linked with Newcastle, along with the likes of Yoane Wissa and Ollie Watkins.
Progress has been painfully slow on the transfer front for Newcastle fans, but it seems the striker chase could be further along than people think.

Newcastle United make progress in search for a new striker
On Thursday, The Chronicle ran a live Q&A with journalist Lee Ryder.
During the discussion, Ryder was asked where Newcastle plan to go next after the signing of Elanga is confirmed.
The journalist confirmed that those behind the scenes knew Wilson was leaving before it was eventually announced, and that plans to replace him with a new signing have progressed further along than supporters may think.
What will happen with William Osula after Newcastle United sign a striker
There were recently suggestions that William Osula could leave the club on loan this summer.
Newcastle rate Osula highly, but Keith Downie said on his YouTube channel that he was of the belief the Danish forward could be allowed to leave to continue his development elsewhere for a season.
“I think there’s a chance he may go out on loan,” said Downie.
Still, not long after that news emerged, The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope took to social media platform X to stress that Osula wouldn’t be leaving St James’ Park this summer.
Excitingly, Newcastle could have three strikers next season. A new signing, Osula and Alexander Isak would be some enviable depth.
