Newcastle United have been reluctant to make signings in the January transfer window.
It has been a disappointing month for Newcastle United fans who were eager to see new players join the club.
Newcastle are pushing to qualify for the Champions League after missing out on playing European football this season.
Eddie Howe’s side were in a position where they would have played in the UEFA Europa Conference League, but Manchester United winning the FA Cup made them miss out. New signings would have kept their qualification hopes high.
This season, Newcastle sit fifth in the Premier League which could be enough to qualify for the Champions League if English clubs continue to perform well in Europe.

Following Miguel Almiron’s Newcastle exit, several names have been linked with possible moves away from the club in January. Defender Lloyd Kelly has been subject to offers from clubs around Europe including Italian giants Juventus.
With a possible exit looming. Newcastle have now made their stance on selling Kelly before the deadline crystal clear.

Lloyd Kelly will not leave Newcastle United in January
Kelly only joined Newcastle in the summer, so it is a surprise that he could be leaving as soon as he has joined.
It was reported that Borussia Dortmund wanted Kelly on loan, but now Newcastle have confirmed that they will not be selling Kelly in January.
According to the Daily Mail, Almiron’s exit was the only one Newcastle planned for in January. Despite the bids from Fenerbahce and Juventus, Kelly will stay put.
The 26-year-old has found game time hard to come by this season. He has only made 13 appearances in all competitions including nine Premier League run-outs.
Geordie Boot Boys recently reported that Kelly was open to leaving Newcastle. It now looks like he will have to wait until the summer to complete a move.
No more Newcastle United players will be sold
While it looked like there could have been many exits in January, Almiron is the only one in Newcastle’s first-team squad that has come to fruition.
From a youth perspective, Jamie Miley was sold to Hartlepool United after he had spent the first half of the season on loan at Newport County.
Matt Targett will not be offered another deal at Newcastle but will remain at the club until at least the end of the season.
Sean Longstaff also had transfer interest from Everton but new reports claim that he will also stay at Newcastle for the foreseeable.
Fans will undoubtedly be disappointed after it initially looked like it would be a busy final few days on Tyneside.
