Newcastle United have made their desire to keep Tino Livramento this summer very clear.
Livramento is one of Newcastle United’s best players, having established himself in the first-team since joining the club from Southampton in 2023.
As such, Manchester City are interested in signing Livramento, who still has three years to run on his contract at St James’ Park.
Newcastle have rejected approaches for Livramento, and the 22-year-old now looks set to stay at the club this summer.
With that in mind, Newcastle supporters online had one thing to say when Fabrizio Romano offered an update.

Newcastle United fans react to Fabrizio Romano’s claim about Tino Livramento
On Saturday evening, Romano took to social media platform X.
He revealed that Newcastle are refusing to drop their asking price for the defender and the idea that City could agree terms before their Club World Cup campaign starts later this month is now seen as “almost impossible”.
Newcastle fans on social media had one response. They don’t think that Livramento is going anywhere this summer.
“Not happening,” added another fan.
One supporter said: “He’s not for sale.”
“Complete non-starter unless they pay over £80million,” claimed one fan.
Whether Newcastle United have to sell their best players this summer
Last summer, the club were forced to cash in on both Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh in order to balance the books for the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
While neither of them could have truly been considered vital players for Newcastle at the time, Eddie Howe did not want to lose them.
Still, the mood is very different now. Newcastle are in a strong PSR position, meaning they are under no immediate pressure to sell players this summer.
Livramento is happy at Newcastle, too. Certainly, it feels as if there’s good reason to feel optimistic about the prospect of him staying at St James’ for another season at least.
He’s simply too important to the cause.
