What Newcastle United are saying about Tino Livramento’s future now as ‘approaches’ emerge

Newcastle United star Tino Livramento is the latest big-name player to be linked with a move away from the club.

Livramento is one of Newcastle United’s most important players. The defender has proven himself excellent in two different positions during his time at the club, playing as well at left-back as he does at right-back.

Manchester City want to sign Livramento, but Eddie Howe does not want to sell. The 22-year-old still has three years to go on his contract and Newcastle do not have to sell their best players this summer.

In fact, the club have sent an emphatic response to Pep Guardiola’s side.

Newcastle United reject offers for Tino Livramento

According to The Chronicle, the club have rejected initial approaches coming from intermediaries about the defender. City have been told he’s just not for sale.

While every player at the club has their price to some extent, it’s claimed it would take a huge fee to convince Newcastle to sell the England international.

Howe simply has no interest in cashing in on the player, despite the fact City are wanting to bring him in ahead of their Club World Cup campaign, which starts later this month.

How Tino Livramento feels about staying at Newcastle United

Newcastle paid £32million to sign Livramento from Southampton and are in a very strong position this summer.

They are under no pressure to sell their leading players, meaning City really would have to break the bank to sign him.

Selling Livramento would be a major blow. He’s got most of his career ahead of him and has already proven himself on the highest level.

A big player in Newcastle’s immediate-term plans and perhaps an even bigger one for the long-term aspirations of the club,  it’s brilliant to hear they’ve adopted such a strong stance.
