In November last year, the Northern Echo reported that Liverpool striker Divock Origi was a loan option for Newcastle United.
Moreover, they also claimed that Amanda Staveley believed that he would be open to the move to the north east.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the Belgian was set to leave Liverpool in the summer when his contract ran out.
But it looks like he is off to AC Milan, as per Fabrizio Romano and a report from Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.
They say he is moving close to a deal worth around £65,000 every week at the San Siro when he leaves Merseyside.
Origi has even been called a ‘legend’ by Jurgen Klopp in the past, and that’s because of his knack of scoring big goals.

That said, the time is right for him to move on if he wants regular football and he has already decided not to sign a new deal for more time on the bench at Liverpool.
We wrote earlier this week that another Newcastle target in the shape of Rafael Leao could be off to Paris Saint-Germain.
Leao plays for Milan currently, so he could go to France, with Origi replacing him and Newcastle looking elsewhere for a frontman.
