Newcastle United have not signed a right winger in what feels like an age.
Though Eddie Howe has tinkered with both Anthony Gordon and Joelinton there at times, Newcastle remain without a compelling option in that position.
Miguel Almiron’s future is unclear, while Jacob Murphy could perhaps be improved upon.
That’s not to pay any disrespect to Murphy, who the Newcastle United manager seems to love and scored two goals in Saturday’s 4-0 Premier League in over Leicester.
Still, it’s hard to imagine too many Newcastle fans taking umbrage to the idea the club could feasibly sign a more effective option on the right wing. Murphy can always remain a valuable squad player, after all.
Naturally, plenty of players have been linked. Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo has been touted as a dream target, while PSV star Johan Bakayoko has also been linked.
Now, insight into another potential target has emerged.
Newcastle want to sign Premier League star Chris Hughton says is fantastic
Indeed, according to the Daily Mirror, Newcastle are interested in West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus.

The Ghana star has previously been linked with a move to St James’ Park, too.
The report claims that Newcastle are “anxious” to add a right-winger to their squad and are keen to strengthen, albeit PSR limitations in play.
West Ham have reportedly valued the 24-year-old at a whopping £90million amid rival interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.
Former Toon manager Chris Hughton coached Kudus while in charge of Ghana and, back in January, hailed him as “fantastic”.
No chance Mohammed Kudus signs for Newcastle in January
The interest in Kudus is seemingly rather long-standing and has been reported elsewhere too, so it hardly seems out of the question that Newcastle might be keen.
Still, paying anything close to the reported asking price seems far-fetched. Money is said to be tight for the club in January and smashing their club-record transfer fee does not at all seem likely.
Sadly, big investments like that may be a while off…
