Newcastle United have been linked with signing Santiago Munoz, who is apparently ‘close’ to a move to Europe.
That’s according to Juan Reynoso, who is set to manage the Liga MX All-Stars team.
Santos Laguna striker Munoz was going to take part in the game, but Reynoso has explained why he will no longer be involved.
“He is close to fixing with a European team,” Reynoso told TUDN.
“I feel that he is about to close and we have to prioritise the moments.”

TUDN believe the European team in question is Newcastle United.
If Reynoso is correct then the Magpies could be on the brink of making their second signing this summer.
However, it might not be the game changing addition fans crave.
Signing Santiago Munoz will not help Newcastle United’s immediate issues
Munoz is just 19-years-old, and doesn’t have a lot of first-team experience.
So far he has played 19 times for Santos Laguna, scoring three goals.
It’s not an inspiring tally, but he is still very young. It seems highly likely that he will go straight into the Under-23 side if he does join Newcastle.

While he could develop into a top forward, Steve Bruce needs players who are ready to make a difference now.
The transfer window closes next week, and Newcastle’s squad is no better than it was last season.
If anything it’s worse, with Andy Carroll leaving without a replacement.
While Munoz’s potential arrival will be celebrated due to his somewhat amusing name, it doesn’t feel like he’s a player who will boost our survival bid.
