There has not been much speculation over Kieran Trippier leaving Newcastle United during the January transfer window.
The 34-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from Newcastle United in the summer, with Kieran Trippier requesting to leave the club.
However, his request was denied. Eddie Howe did not want to lose Trippier, and the Newcastle United manager got his wish.
The right-back, who was Howe’s first ever Newcastle signing, has gone on to make 16 appearances for the Magpies this season, with nine of them coming as a substitute. He has not been a regular starter at St James’ Park, with Eddie Howe now favouring Tino Livramento.

Kieran Trippier linked with Galatasaray transfer
That is why it is surprising that there has not been much chat about Kieran Trippier changing clubs during the January transfer window.
However, that has now changed, with claims in Turkey suggesting that the veteran defender is an option for Galatasaray.
The Istanbul club are in the market for a right-back, with Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters their top target.
But journalist Yakup Çınar has told Haber Sarikirmizi that Trippier has been floated as an alternative.
“The alternative to Kyle Walker-Peters is Kieran Trippier,” he said.
“The 34-year-old, who plays for Newcastle United, was recommended to Galatasaray by agents. He’s one of the alternatives at right-back.”
Newcastle United should not let Kieran Trippier leave
Moving Trippier on now would help the Magpies’ PSR position, as he is one of Newcastle’s highest earners right now.
However, the former Spurs player is unlikely to command a big fee, while Eddie Howe cannot afford to weaken his squad further.
Letting Trippier go would be a massive risk, as it would mean Livramento only has Emil Krafth as competition at right-back.
With Newcastle already set to lose Almiron, Howe will not want his squad to get any weaker by waving goodbye to Trippier. While he might not play regularly, he is an important figure off the pitch. His experience is vital, as the Magpies continue to compete on multiple fronts.
When it comes to Trippier’s future, Newcastle United must delay any decision until the summer.
