Kieran Trippier is not the only Newcastle player who could leave before deadline day

Kieran Trippier wants to leave Newcastle United, and could be on his way out of the club before the transfer window closes.

The Magpies could be about to lose a hugely influential figure, with Kieran Trippier telling Newcastle United he wants to leave, despite Eddie Howe’s desire to keep him.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a move away from St James’ Park all summer, and it was even reported in July that Trippier probably will leave Newcastle.

That now feels even more likely, with the likes of Atalanta and Galatasaray interested in Trippier. Everton have also held talks, and could give the England international the chance to continue playing in the Premier League.

Newcastle United will not loan out Kieran Trippier

However, Everton are looking at a loan deal, which does not suit the Magpies. That is according to HITC Football insider Graeme Bailey, who has spoken to Geordie Boot Boys about Kieran Trippier‘s Newcastle United future.

“We know that Kieran Trippier has been available all summer,” he said.

“There has been talks with Saudi Arabia, plus the interest from Bayern Munich earlier in the year. Newcastle want a permanent deal for Trippier. However, the interested parties, one of which is Everton, want a loan deal.

“But Trippier has made it clear to the club that he wants to go this month. We do expect him to go.”

Two more Newcastle United players could also leave

Trippier wants to leave Newcastle United, and could be on his way out of the club before the transfer window closes on August 30th.

However, there are two more players who Graeme Bailey thinks could depart St James’ Park in the near future – Miguel Almiron and Matt Targett.

“I still think there is a good chance that Almiron will leave Newcastle,” he said.

“However, if he is Saudi Arabia bound then that does not have to be done until October. But if Newcastle get another winger in then I think there is a fair chance that Almiron will go.

“Newcastle are considering letting Matt Targett go out on loan.

“Whether Kieran Trippier’s future impacts on him remains to be seen. We know Eddie Howe likes Targett – he even trialled him in centre-midfield last season and he’s a good professional. But I think Newcastle are open to it if the right deal is out there.”

Newcastle will not want to lose too many senior players

Almiron’s situation is still up in the air, after his move back to the MLS collapsed earlier this month.

Newcastle tried to sell Almiron to Charlotte FC, but a deal could not be agreed. However, it is clear that the Magpies are open to the Paraguayan leaving if the right offer comes in.

As for Targett, a loan move is a possibility for him. He has only just returned from injury, having played 45 minutes for the Newcastle Under-21s against Sunderland on Monday night. Targett is now hoping to play against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup next week.

It is difficult to determine where Targett sits in the Toon pecking order at the moment. Lewis Hall started at left-back against Southampton, while Lloyd Kelly also played there in the 1-0 win. On top of that, Dan Burn can also operate at left-back. In that respect, it might be wise for Targett to seek a move away.

However, it may depend on who else goes. Eddie Howe will not want to lose too many senior players, especially after the injury crisis that the Magpies endured last season.
