Kieran Trippier’s Newcastle United career could be coming to an end this month.
After joining the Magpies in January 2022, it now looks like Kieran Trippier could be on his way out of Newcastle United.
There has been speculation regarding his future at St James’ Park all summer, and it was previously claimed that Trippier probably would leave Newcastle.
The 33-year-old was an unused substitute in the win over Southampton, which resulted in Trippier asking to play for the Newcastle Under-21s on Monday night. He played 45 minutes as the young Magpies drew 1-1 with Sunderland.
On top of that, there has been the captaincy decision, with Bruno Guimaraes taking the armband for the 2024/25 season. Making Bruno captain hinted towards Trippier leaving, and that could now become a reality.

Kieran Trippier wants to leave Newcastle United
It is now widely reported that Kieran Trippier wants to leave Newcastle United before the transfer window closes on August 30th.
The Athletic broke the news on Thursday, with David Ornstein reporting that Trippier wants to leave and that Everton are interested in the England international.
Now the Daily Mail have provided an update on the Trippier situation, and have shared how Eddie Howe feels about the right-back leaving the club this month.
What Eddie Howe has told Kieran Trippier
According to the Daily Mail, Howe has told Trippier that he needs him to be part of his Newcastle United squad moving forwards.
Ahead of the Premier League opener against Southampton, Howe said that Trippier could be sold for financial reasons, but admitted that the defender was not openly seeking a move away and was performing well in training.
Less than a week later and it appears very open that Trippier is seeking a move away.
Trippier exit makes business sense for Newcastle
While he is an extremely influential player on and off the pitch, it does make sense to move Trippier on this summer.
He is in the final year of his Toon contract, and it would be unwise from a financial perspective to let him leave on a free next summer.
On top of that, it appears that Trippier is no longer the first choice right-back at St James’ Park. He has been overtaken by Tino Livramento, which will likely come into Trippier’s thinking amid his decision to find a new club.
It will be sad to see him go given everything he has done for Newcastle United, but a move feels inevitable.
While Howe wants Trippier to stay, it seems unlikely that the Toon boss will get his wish.
