Newcastle United are looking to sign Tino Livramento this summer, but he is not the only Southampton player who Eddie Howe has his eye on.
The Magpies have been keen to scoop up the most talented players from the clubs who were relegated from the Premier League. There was talk of a deal for Leeds midfielder Tyler Adams, while Southampton’s Carlos Alcaraz has also been linked.
Now it is Livramento who is filling up the gossip columns, with Newcastle confident they can agree a deal to bring him to St James’ Park.
However, Newcastle’s relegated player recruitment drive might not end there.
Newcastle boss really likes James Ward-Prowse
Another Southampton player who Newcastle have been linked with earlier this year is the captain James Ward-Prowse.

Talk of him joining the Magpies has died down in recent weeks, but a report from the Telegraph has brought his name back into the conversation.
They state that Eddie Howe is a a big admirer of the 28-year-old, who the Telegraph claim is certain to leave Southampton ahead of next season.
The report adds that while Newcastle are not actively pursuing the ‘unbelievable‘ JWP, they are keeping an eye on relegated players in the hope they can get a bargain.
Whether or not that happens with Ward-Prowse remains to be seen. It has previously been reported that the Saints want £50million, which Newcastle believe is far too much for someone who turns 29 in November.

While he might not be a high profile addition in comparison to some of the other names linked, Ward-Prowse would add more depth to our midfield, which is set to get a lot stronger with the arrival of Sandro Tonali.
It would be a surprise to see Newcastle make a move for the Saints skipper alongside Tonali, as he is perhaps not the attacking force that Howe is looking for. Would he get as many goals or assists as someone like James Maddison or Dominik Szoboszlai? I highly doubt it.
But this is certainly one to keep an eye on as the summer progresses. With Ward-Prowse seemingly certain to leave, Southampton might be forced to drop their asking price the longer they go without moving him on.
