Liverpool have made their move for Alexander Isak, with Newcastle United rejecting a huge bid for the striker.
Newcastle do not want to sell Isak despite the fact the Sweden international wants to leave the club this summer.
Isak did not join Newcastle United’s pre-season tour of Asia due to what the club have called a “minor thigh injury”.
Still, Isak has been training at Real Sociedad in a bid to keep fit for the new season.
Now, Liverpool have made their move. After weeks of speculation, a bid is in and it has been rejected.

How much Liverpool bid for Alexander Isak
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool’s bid for Isak was worth £120million plus add-ons.
That is a huge amount of money and owners PIF have stood firm. Newcastle value Isak at over £150million, although even a bid of that magnitude may not be enough.
Romano adds that Newcastle will not sanction any kind of exit until they at least find a replacement.
He adds that even in that event, Isak’s exit is not guaranteed.
Alexander Isak’s real feelings on Newcastle United right now
Isak still respects Newcastle, although supporters could be forgiven in thinking that they are hollow words.
Isak wanting to leave Newcastle is not the issue. Neither, really, is selling him – in isolation at least.
However, the context of this summer surely does not allow the club to suddenly cash in.
If Newcastle had a big-name replacement to come in for Isak, then selling – while painful – would make sense.
Liverpool have gone big, and it would be a surprise if another offer doesn’t come in.
Newcastle’s ineptitude in signing players still offers some hope Isak will stay, even if his exit is now probably best for all parties.
