Tino Livramento’s future at Newcastle United now looks crystal clear after interest from Manchester City.

Livramento has been one of Newcastle’s best players ever since he arrived from Southampton in the summer of 2023.

The England international has made 80 appearances for the Magpies and has proven to be a bargain for the club.

Man City want to sign Livramento, although Newcastle have other ideas.

Indeed, Newcastle want to offer Livramento a new contract and the player himself is open to doing exactly that.

City, meanwhile, may have dropped their interest altogether.

Man City won’t bid for Tino Livramento

According to the Manchester Evening News, City are not set to make a bid for the full-back.

It’s claimed that Pep Guardiola’s side briefly considered a move for the 22-year-old but never formalised their interest to the point where they made an official bid for his services.

At this stage, the Premier League giants do not have any plans to make an offer for the defender.

Instead, they are focused on selling players during what remains of the summer transfer window.

What Tino Livramento has said about leaving Newcastle United

Livramento hasn’t expressed any desire to leave Newcastle, despite frequent links with a move to the Etihad Stadium.

In fact, the former Chelsea youngster sent a message about life at St James’ Park while he was away on international duty with the England U21s earlier this summer.

Livramento claimed he was hoping to win more trophies at the club, having played a starring role in their Carabao Cup victory back in March.

Speaking as transfer rumours began to swirl, Livramento said: “I knew that they [Newcastle] were a big club when I joined. They were already in the Champions League the summer when I arrived.

“So even that was a massive thing for me. To win anything for this club has been a massive achievement, and long may it continue.”

Livramento is happy at Newcastle and, with City seemingly having given up hope of signing him, he will no doubt play another huge role for the club during the 2025/26 campaign.
