Alexander Isak is not the only player who Newcastle United want to sign a new contract.

As well as signing players, Newcastle United are also eager to tie down the superstars they already have.

The biggest concern in that regard is Alexander Isak, who is relentlessly being linked with a move away from St James’ Park. Newcastle will not sell Isak, but are yet to extend his contract despite having a desire to make him their highest-paid player ever.

While fans wait for progress between Isak and Newcastle United, one of his teammates could force the club’s wage bill to go up.

Newcastle United’s contract plan for Tino Livramento

Manchester City want to sign Tino Livramento, yet he is another player who Toon officials absolutely do not want to sell.

In an attempt to ward off Man City’s interest, a new contract could be coming the right-back’s way.

That is according to the Times, who claim that Newcastle United are going to offer Livramento a new contract to stay at St James’ Park.

The Times report that the 22-year-old could become one of the Magpies’ best-paid players, with Livramento ‘keen’ to put pen to paper and extend his stay on Tyneside.

Newcastle United can double their money on Tino Livramento

Alternatively, Newcastle United could sell Livramento two years after signing him from Southampton. He joined the club for £32million, signing a deal until 2028.

While Paul Mitchell complained about Newcastle signing Livramento, he has proven to be a smart investment. That is summed up by the fact that the Magpies could already double their money on him.

The Times add that Manchester City are willing to pay £65million for Livramento, with Pep Guardiola desperate to add a new right-back to his squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Doubling their money would represent good business for Newcastle, but they will believe that Livramento is worth more than that. In truth, he is priceless, with the Magpies investing in their future when they brought him to the North East.

Two years after his arrival, Livramento will not be leaving Newcastle United.
