Kieran Trippier wants to leave Newcastle United, but it remains to be seen where he wants to go.
The 33-year-old is being heavily linked with a move away from St James’ Park, despite Eddie Howe wanting to keep Kieran Trippier at Newcastle United.
The Toon boss might not get his wish, as various clubs queue up to potentially sign Kieran Trippier.
Atalanta and Galatasaray are interested in Trippier, while there is also the prospect of him remaining in the Premier League. Everton are keen, and Trippier’s recent interview with Gary Neville suggests that a move to Goodison Park might appeal.
There is also the prospect of moving to Saudi Arabia, but that might not suit the England international at this stage in his career.
Kieran Trippier unlikely to move to Saudi Arabia
iNews have provided an update on the Kieran Trippier situation following his request to leave Newcastle United, and have stated whether or not the right-back would fancy a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

According to iNews, Trippier is not keen to leave Newcastle United and sign for a club in Saudi Arabia.
They add that he wants to continue his England career and be a part of interim manager Lee Carsley’s squad, which might not be possible if he moves to a team in the Saudi Pro League.
Newcastle defender has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia
From a financial perspective, you would imagine that Newcastle would prefer to sell Trippier to a club in Saudi Arabia. However, any deal would come under heavy scrutiny if he were to join another club that is funded by PIF.
There has been rumours of interest from Saudi Arabia. It was reported earlier this summer that Al-Qadsiah would like to sign Trippier, while there was also interest in his Toon teammate Miguel Almiron. Interestingly, they are not one of the four Saudi clubs that PIF own 75% of.
There was also talk of a move to Al-Ettifaq, who are managed by Steven Gerrard. Trippier was pictured on Instagram with their chief scout Tom Spring in July, leading to speculation that a deal could be on the cards.
However, this update from iNews suggests that a transfer to Saudi Arabia does not appeal to Trippier.
England is important for Trippier
Even at the age of 33, Trippier is thinking about his England career. After two European Championship final defeats, he still wants to represent his country and play for the Three Lions.
He was a favourite of Gareth Southgate, and was relied on heavily during Euro 2024. Trippier was asked to play at left-back, and performed admirably in an uncomfortable position.
However, the change of manager raises questions over Trippier’s Three Lions future. It remains to be seen whether Lee Carsley will stick with Trippier, as England prepare for two Nations League games in September against Republic of Ireland and Finland.
