Newcastle United are already facing up to the reality of missing out on one transfer target to Manchester United.
Matheus Cunha is a Newcastle target, but it looks like the Brazil international will be heading to Old Trafford this summer.
It has been reported that Cunha wants to join Manchester United, regardless of whether or not they qualify for the Champions League.
The 25-year-old seems to have his heart set on the Red Devils, which is a blow for Eddie Howe.

Manchester United to rival Newcastle for Bryan Mbeumo
Now another Newcastle United target is attracting interest from Ruben Amorim.
According to the Telegraph, Man United are interested in signing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
It has been reported that Newcastle United want Mbeumo too, but are concerned that he could be too expensive.
The 25-year-old is valued at £60million, which would make him one of Newcastle’s most expensive signings ever.
For many Toon fans, it would be money well spent. Mbeumo looks like a perfect addition to this Newcastle United squad.
However, there is now competition for his signature from the North West.
Newcastle United’s Mbeumo fear coming true
Given how well Mbeumo has done for Brentford this season, Newcastle were never going to get a clear run at the Cameroon international.
He has scored 18 goals and provided eight assists, and appears ready to take the next step in his career.
That step will hopefully see him arrive at St James’ Park, as Eddie Howe aims to sign a new right winger.
The Telegraph recently reported that while Howe would love to sign Mbeumo, Newcastle are aware that more interest in him will likely result in his price tag increasing. That fear could now become reality, as Manchester United enter the picture.
Newcastle have three transfer priorities this summer, with a winger being one of them. The Magpies are also aiming to bring in a centre-back and a goalkeeper, while Howe would like another striker too.
Getting Mbeumo would cover two of those positions, as he can also play centrally as well as out wide.
