Bryan Mbeumo is high on Newcastle United’s list of transfer targets this summer.
The 25-year-old has been sensational this season, scoring 18 goals and bagging six assists in the Premier League alone, with four of those goal contributions coming against Eddie Howe’s side in three games against the Magpies this season.
Newcastle United are in desperate need of a right winger after Paul Mitchell approved the sale Miguel Almiron and joined just after Yankuba Minteh left in for Brighton.
With the season coming to a close, Howe is working with Mitchell on transfer targets. The feeling is that Newcastle are very keen on signing Bryan Mbeumo this summer as they believe he will add much more quality to their attack.
Jacob Murphy has done an excellent job on the right side of attack this season, registering 19 Premier League goal contributions. However, there will be doubts internally over whether Murphy can achieve similar numbers consistently.
As Newcastle prepare to make a move for Mbeumo, the man himself has made his ambitions clear in a revealing interview.

Bryan Mbeumo shares his future ambitions amid Newcastle United links
Newcastle fans urged Mitchell to sign Mbeumo this summer. The winger will be available for a fee of around £60million, which the club should be able to afford after failing to make any marquee signings over the last three transfer windows.
It was reported that Newcastle wanted to sign Liam Delap, but it looks unlikely that the Magpies will be able to land him due to assurances over the 22-year-old’s game time on Tyneside. That means there will be more money available to bring Mbeumo to Tyneside.
Mbeumo is Newcastle’s ‘dream’ signing, but Howe can make the Cameroon international’s dreams come true by signing him.
Speaking on The Obi One podcast alongside teammate Yoane Wissa, Mbeumo was asked about his ambitions for the future.
“I always want to play the biggest games for the biggest club when I was younger,” he said.
“It’s easy to say I want to be there but you need to put a lot of demands on yourself.
“I’ve shown as well what I was capable of. I’m really demanding on myself as well because I know I have the abilities. We never know what can happen.”
Newcastle United can give Bryan Mbeumo opportunities not available at Brentford
There is no doubt that Mbeumo would immediately improve any front three in the Premier League. His natural ability and eye for goal are mesmerising, and Howe will be eager to get the best out of him if he moves to Newcastle.
A player of Mbeumo’s quality will be keen on playing in Europe eventually, but that may not be a possibility at Brentford next season. The Bees are currently ninth in the table and require a lot of luck to qualify for a European competition.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 4 | 35 | 19 | 6 | 10 | 66 | 45 | 21 | 63 |
Newcastle are fourth in the table, on the cusp of Champions League football. Signing Mbeumo would give the Magpies much more of a fighting chance in Europe’s top competition if they qualify for it.
While Mbeumo dreams of bigger and better things for his career, he may just be a couple of months away from realising them by moving to Newcastle.
