Newcastle United will need to revamp their attack next year.

While Eddie Howe boasts some incredible options in his frontline, things are looking somewhat stale right now.

Indeed, Will Osula was brought in this summer but the forward line has not seen much investment in recent windows.

The midfield and full-back positions were strengthened in the summer of 2023, while last summer was spent tracking Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi.

Still, all of that could soon change.

Newcastle will reportedly look to sign a right-winger and potentially a new striker in 2025 and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is said to be their dream target.

There could, however, be a complication.

Arsenal could hijack Newcastle’s dream transfer deal

According to GIVEMESPORT, Arsenal are also strongly interested in the Cameroon international.

They claim the Gunners are doing their “homework” in regards to a potential deal, studying data and compiling scouting reports.

It is thought the north London giants believe the 25-year-old is at the perfect stage of his career to move to a top club.

Newcastle are surely set for Bryan Mbeumo blow

With Liverpool also credited with an interest, signing Mbeumo looks difficult.

Both the Reds and the Gunners will surely be able to offer Champions League football, something that looks unlikely for Newcastle.

While PIF are stressing they remain ambitious and there will reportedly be money to spend, the allure Europe’s top club competition offers potential signings can hardly be replicated.

Mbeumo will undoubtedly want to test himself at the very highest level and, in the short term, it’s not clear if Newcastle will be able to provide that.

As unwelcome a thought as that may be, its sadly the reality at the moment. That doesn’t mean Newcastle can’t attract good players, it’s just that beating other clubs to them looks difficult.
