Newcastle United sold Karl Darlow to Leeds United earlier this summer, and he could soon be joined by one of his former Toon teammates.
That is because Daniel Farke’s side are looking for midfield reinforcements after selling Newcastle target Tyler Adams to Bournemouth, and could turn to Jonjo Shelvey.
Leeds eye Jonjo Shelvey deal
According to TeamTalk, Leeds are considering a move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Jonjo Shelvey. The report states that the 31-year-old is available, with Steve Cooper’s side willing to listen to offers for the former England international.
That is despite the fact he only joined Forest in January. Shelvey signed for them late in the winter window, as he entered the final six months of his Newcastle contract.
It looked for all the world that he was going to stay at St James’ Park, but that changed when Forest came in with an offer that provided him and his family more security.

It was a smart move, but one that has proven to be a disaster. After just a handful of appearances, Shelvey was dropped due to performing poorly in training.
This then led to a fallout between Shelvey and Cooper, and the former Toon hero has not played since.
Leeds move could be good for the former Newcastle star
Now forest want rid, and a move away could be on the cards if Leeds formalise their interest.
They are looking to return to the Premier League after suffering relegation, but have endured a tough start. Leeds are 19th with two points from their opening three games, while their squad needs reinforcements.

They have been decimated by players leaving after dropping down to the Championship, which is a division that Shelvey has thrived in back in the day.
When Newcastle were in the Championship, Shelvey was the star of the show at St James’ Park, dominating the second tier with his elite passing range.
Seven years on, it will be interesting to see if he can have the same kind of impact if Leeds do decide to bring him to Elland Road.
