Newcastle United have made some incredible signings since the change of ownership at St James’ Park, and that will hopefully continue in 2024.
We have seen elite players like Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes arrive on Tyneside, while the Magpies smashed their transfer record to sign Alexander Isak in the summer of 2022.
Newcastle will be spending even more money in 2024, as they look to continue challenging for honours and Champions League qualification.
With that in mind, here are three dream signings that we would love to see Newcastle United make in 2024…
Nico Williams
At the start of 2023, Newcastle United signed Anthony Gordon. He has proven to be a wonderful addition to the squad, becoming a key player as he combines goals and assists with endless energy off the ball.
But when it was unclear if Newcastle were going to sign Gordon, their alternative was Nico Williams.
The Athletic Bilbao winger has since been linked with the Magpies again, and he could be the perfect long-term replacement for Miguel Almiron on the right of attack.
The 21-year-old has the speed that Eddie Howe wants from his wingers, and he could be the missing part of our front three alongside Gordon and Alexander Isak.

Marcos Leonardo
Newcastle United need to sign another striker in 2024, with Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson both boasting injury issues as of late.
It has heightened the need for the Magpies to bring in a younger forward, and the front runner has to be Marcos Leonardo, who could become the third Brazilian on Tyneside alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton.
It has been reported that Newcastle are the favourites to sign the Santos youngster, who is subject of interest from Europe’s top clubs.
It will be a tough deal to do, but Newcastle would be making a real statement of intent if they can sign a man who has been likened to Premier League legend Sergio Aguero. He could be a future number nine at St James’ Park.
Florian Wirtz
For large parts of 2023, Newcastle were looking to sign an attacking midfielder.
James Maddison was heavily linked and seemed to be keen on a move to Tyneside, only to end up joining Tottenham Hotspur instead. There was also interest in Dominik Szoboszlai, but the Magpies missed out on the Hungarian to Liverpool.
But based on those targets, it is clear that Eddie Howe wants a creative central player who can break down defences in a tight game, which is why Florian Wirtz would be a dream signing in 2024.
He has been rumoured to be on Newcastle’s radar, and a move for the 20-year-old would make missing out on Maddison and Szoboszlai completely worth it.
Wirtz has been described as a ‘very special‘ footballer, and the playmaker is someone who would be worth breaking the club’s transfer record for this year.
