Newcastle United, on their day, can score goals aplenty.
Last season saw them put six past Tottenham, hit five against the likes of West Ham and Brentford and bag four against Southampton, Fulham, Brighton and Everton.
Still, it’s not always consistent enough. Though they can plunder in front of goal on their day, they also drew a blank against ultimately relegated Leeds and Leicester at home.

Indeed, though there are players such as Miguel Almiron capable of scoring goals, he’s not always the most reliable. Though playing away at Manchester City must be taken into perspective, the winger hardly covered himself in glory there.
With that in mind, its little surprise to see the club tracking a new potential option up front.
Nico Williams remains of interest to Newcastle
According to iNews, the Magpies remain interested in a move for Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams.
The 21-year-old winger has long been linked with Newcastle and the report suggests he could be an option in a future transfer window, with Lewis Hall looking like the last addition to the first-team of this summer.

Who is Nico Williams and what is his style of play?
Former Spain manager Luis Enrique hailed the forward’s “marvellous speed” after calling him to the national squad for the 20222 World Cup.
At 21, he fits the age profile PIF have generally targeted and a WhoScored comparison with Almiron is interesting.
According to their data, Williams completed far more dribbles per game last season than the Newcastle forward (2.3 to 1), as well as playing more key passes (1.3 to 0.8). Assists wise, Williams got four in 32 starts compared to Almiron’s two in 29.
Though Almiron scored more (11 to 6), Williams does have time to grow into a more compelling forward in front of goal.
Certainly, he’d be a logical addition for the long-term.
