Joao Pedro’s three-word statement on his best attributes should excite Newcastle United fans.

Pedro is a Newcastle United transfer target this summer, having previously come close to a move to St James’ Park in 2022.

Geordie Boot Boys understands Pedro could leave Brighton this summer, with Eddie Howe keen on signing him.

Howe rates Pedro highly and signing him this summer would be a statement of intent. A Brazilian international who has already proven himself in the Premier League, he’d be an excellent addition to a frontline already containing the likes of Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak and Jacob Murphy.

In fact, Pedro has already explained exactly what he’d bring to Newcastle.

Joao Pedro used three words to sum up his style of play

Speaking to Football Daily in 2022 while still a Watford player, Pedro was asked to describe his playing style.

The three words he used should excite supporters. Indeed, Pedro said: “Aggressive, skilful and maybe magic.

“I try to do something different than others.”

Pedro has certainly come good on his comments about his playing style, scoring 22 goals and registering 10 assists in 89 Premier League appearances across a variety of attacking positions.

Having that kind of quality mixed in with Newcastle’s existing stars is a seriously exciting prospect.

What Newcastle United plan to do after Joao Pedro bombshell

Brighton teammate Igor Julio has revealed that Pedro would prefer to move to London instead of Newcastle

That is obviously a blow for the club, but it does not mean they are completely out of the race.

Newcastle are looking to seek clarity on Pedro’s thoughts about his next move, before deciding whether or not to progress on their interest.

Hopefully, they get good feedback. It has been a long time since Newcastle signed a first-team player and landing Pedro would be a return to form in the transfer market.

If he can bring those aforementioned attributes to St James’, fans will be pleased.
