Newcastle United want to sign Joao Pedro from Brighton this summer.
It has been reported that Pedro is open to joining Newcastle United, three years after missing out on a move to St James’ Park.
Pedro was upset he did not join Newcastle, and now the 23-year-old could have the chance to make up for lost time. It will all depend on the price, with Geordie Boot Boys told that Brighton want £70million for Pedro.
Newcastle United will hope that price tag drops, so let’s look at who could be the winners and losers if the Magpies are able to sign the Brazilian forward.

Winners from Joao Pedro transfer to Newcastle United
Alexander Isak
Alexander Isak is under huge pressure at Newcastle United. He is the main source of goals and the only reliable senior striker. He needs more competition and cover, which is exactly what Pedro will provide.
His arrival could also help Isak improve further, with Howe hoping to deploy the two of them together.

Paul Mitchell
It has been confirmed that Mitchell is leaving Newcastle at the end of June. Until then, he will continue in his role as the Magpies’ sporting director.
During his time on Tyneside, the 43-year-old has failed to make a major signing. He hopes to change that, with Mitchell keen to make one signing for Newcastle before his departure.
If Mitchell can strike a deal for Pedro before he leaves, it will help towards salvaging his reputation.
Losers from Joao Pedro transfer to Newcastle United
Will Osula
If Newcastle United do sign Joao Pedro, it will likely mean fewer opportunities for Will Osula.
After arriving for £10million last summer, Osula has certainly improved. He has a lot of potential, but needs more senior experience.
It has been reported that Newcastle will keep Osula at the club next season rather than loan him out, which will allow him to train alongside the Magpies’ superstars. However, it will also mean he may struggle to play first-team football, especially if Pedro arrives.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Long-term Newcastle United target Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to become a free agent this summer, and for many a move to Tyneside has felt inevitable. Financially, it makes a lot of sense.
However, Newcastle will be less likely to sign Calvert-Lewin on a free if they manage to bring in Pedro. He will be able to provide that depth they are looking for in attack, while Calvert-Lewin may have to look elsewhere for a new club.
